One day while out on a walk, Foxy (one of the author/illustrator's beloved rescue dogs) discovered a turtle who quickly hid in his shell. This fateful encounter sparked the author's imagination and eventually turned into the story, Hi, I'm Fox!
A member of the SCBWI Michigan Chapter, Kerfoot is also an advocate for animal welfare as well as arts education for children.
